Tim Holtz Distress Oxide Ink Pads are hybrid inks, meaning they have dye and pigment ink properties. This unique formulation makes them water-reactive and creates an oxidized effect when sprayed with water. These inks are more opaque than the regular Distress inks and have a chalky finished look. Their pigment ink properties makes them dry slowly, which allows time for heat embossing. Different techniques such as stamping, direct-to-paper and blending are also possible. After the ink dries, it will reactivate when in contact with water. This can be prevented by waterproofing the project (with Distress Micro Glaze for example). These inks are available in 61 colors and reinkers are available. All ink pads are approximately 7.6 x 7.6 cm (3 x 3") and not available in a smaller size.
